-
assist students in building their skillsets and experiences throughout high school

help students reduce stress and uncertainty in the college application process,
-
reflect on their time in high school and connect how their journey to this point has taught them skills that will help them in college and beyond, and most importantly,

Support and Planning

I work with students throughout their high school journey to ensure they are building meaningful experiences and reaching their potential.

For the past 25 years, I have worked in high school and middle schools and in private individual tutoring with students around the United States to help them

-
identify and find balance in their course planning
-
identify and engage in a variety of extracurricular, summer, and volunteer activities
-
explore potential college and career paths
-
build up executive functioning skills such as organization, study skills, and test taking strategies

Through this comprehensive approach, I help students build their skill sets, understand how they learn, teach them how to make adjustments and perservere through challenges, identify their strengths, set goals to improve upon areas where they can grow, make decisions that align with their future goals, and build confidence in themselves.
Testing Preparation

I have tutored students in all subjects of ACT, pSAT, and SAT tests for the past 19 years and have navigated the changes in testing that have occured over time.
Within the past few years, there have been significant changes as tests have largely transitioned from paper testing to redesigned digital testing. I have reviewed the types of questions on the digital tests, navigated the nuances and testing tools in the test taking platforms, have taken the digital tests myself, and have examined strategies for students use when approaching the new question types.
I focus on a combination of content instruction and test strategy instruction to help students build confidence and know what to expect on test day.
College Application Support

For the past 8 years, I have worked with students to help them through all parts of the college application process.
Each year I meet with college admissions professionals and visit college campuses to learn about admission changes, trends, and new programs. I have attended the Harvard Summer Institute on College Admissions and hold memberships in The National Association of College Admission Counselors and the American School Counseling Association. With changing admissions policies and trends, it is critical to continually meet with fellow college admissions professionals and connect students and clients with that information.

Students who have worked with me have earned admission to many schools including Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, MIT, Columbia, University of Chicago, Duke, Cornell, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, UCLA, Notre Dame, University of Michigan, UNC Chapel Hill, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Penn State, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Carnegie Mellon, Case Western Reserve University, Savannah College of Art and Design, among others.

I have also worked with students who are looking at unique admissions programs, including BSMD programs, art and architecture portfolios, performance auditions, athletic programs and NCAA eligibility, and career-technical programs.

I am happy to help students comprehensively with all aspects of their college admissions process or helping with selected portions of the process. From developing a balanced list of colleges that meet their criteria, to helping to brainstorm and revise application essays, to reviewing applications step by step and helping to avoid application pitfalls, to developing an application strategy and building out mini-deadlines, to reviewing offers of admission, and more, I am here to help you navigate each step of the way.
